AT AT DAY AFTERNOON

What would you do if you had an AT-AT walker for a pet?

DINOSAUR ESCAPE

I saw a big animal and it looked like a dinosaur. I ran because a big dinosaur was chasing me. I hid. Soon I heard a squeaking sound. Then an animal jumped out of the bush. I said, "have you got food for me?"

RRRRRRRRRRRRR...I think he said.

I chased him. He showed me some berries. A big dinosaur ran after me. My friend picked me up and flew away.

THE ADVENTURE

Suddenly enemies were scattering towards me. I found a stick and threw it at them. Then i fell down...down...down back home again and I lived happily ever after.

DINOSAUR ADVENTURE

An incredible thing happened to me. I was walking along the beach when the sand started to collapse around me. Then I felt myself falling down....down....down....I found myself at a loud prehistoric place.

We have been sharing this text together.

The students did some great charades of some of the things knights did everyday. There was a bit much sword fighting though!

SOLVING WORD PROBLEMS USING 'DRAW IT' AS A STRATEGY

This week in our maths groups, we are learning to solve word problems using 'draw it' as a strategy.

In reading we are setting up routines with our new groups. The Gorillas are reading 'Dimitri's Lunch.' I wonder if there is a food you really like that others think is smelly or disgusting?

DISCOVERING THE PAST

How did people live their lives? What things did ancient civilisations leave behind as clues that show how they lived their lives? Have a go at this game about the Anglo-Saxons to help with our learning in this.

BEING AN EFFECTIVE QUESTIONER

We are learning to use questions to find relevant information about a topic and to get information to solve a problem.

Here's a video from Mr C's 2005 trip to Thailand. I wonder what questions he was thinking during this disaster?

TARA'S GUESS WHAT

While on a shape scavenger hunt, Tara took some close-ups of things in the classroom and playground. Can you guess what they are?
