WEEK 7 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lyllia is a great helper in Room 2...this week, she led a group for our science experiments investigating sound. Lyllia commented that even the boys were listening at the end of the session...Well done Lyllia By Mr C

LILLIAN IN THE STORM

The radio said there was a freak storm coming. Dad, what’s a freak storm I asked. Dad said it is bigger than normal. I was scared just a little bit. Mum was outside getting all the pets into shelter. I heard the sea crashing against the cliffs. My dog was sitting by the fire. The clouds were very black and grey. The lights were flickering on and off. It was the next morning…I had a bad nightmare about the thunderstorm. It was flooded everywhere in the town and at the beach. Yay, we don’t have to go to school again!!!

WEEK 3 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Piers has been working solidly on his reading and writing this week. He is always one of the first settled on learning activities. Great stuff!!!!

WEEK 2 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Logan has been making an outstanding effort in being one of the first to start learning activities. He made a great effort on his Landslide game.

LOGAN'S ROBOT

My robot's name is R4. It likes to destroy Roger Rogers. It makes ships for me.

RHIANNON'S ROBOT

My robot's name is Pigleto and her planet's name is Pinky Pie. The bigger robot is called Missy Moo. It likes to stay warm on Hello Kitty Land.

PIER'S ROBOT

My robot likes to do all the jobs for me and his name is R2D2. He does the dishes and all the jobs that I have to do like stacking the wood. He always wants to play with me.

JORDI'S ROBOT

My robot's name is Snoopy and he is a space robot. He lives in North Pluto. He has a car that is a stretch out limousine that has a spa in the back and it has a bar.

CORDELIA'S ROBOT

My robot is called Britney and it helps with the dishes. It is swimming with them in the sink.

MELODY'S ROBOT

My robot's name is Sara and it helps with the dishes. It is made out of tin.

JOSH'S ROBOT

My robot is called DJ. It likes playing ball.

JORDAN'S ROBOT

My robot is called Roger Roger. It likes to eliminate R4 and R2D2 and A7R7 and R units.

COW POWER

The cow that saved the farmers life....we enjoyed the story about the flood and how the cow saved the farmers life. Here we are acting out some of the scenes from the story. These are freeze frames. We worked in our group to make three freeze frames which showed a part of the story. It's a great NZ story.

DISASTERS AND HOW TO BE PREPARED

We will be using the What's the Plan Stan resource from Civil Defence to look at threats in the local environment and how to be prepared.

Looking forward to the term and seeing the great progress continue.

Also we welcome Jessie, Cordelia and Brittany to Room 2.

Which Paper is Most Absorbent???

Here are some more pictures of our experiment. We found out that the paper towel was the most absorbent.

We are learning about the properties of different types of paper. We are seeing which kind of paper is the most absorbent. Piers is dropping dye onto the paper and Noah is recording his observations.
